PRANA’s – and employment

Electric Vehicles as a product and EV as an industry needs new knowledge and new skills. They represent a fundamental change in approach in job structure. Employment growth is expected in most occupations in the electric vehicle industry in the next few years, according to a study, employment growth is expected in manufacturing industries and the domestic energy sector as the need for batteries and charging stations increase. New types of automobile manufacturing jobs will also be created; however, many of these jobs will be filled by current manufacturing employees or those that were displaced by recent downsizing of the automobile manufacturing industry. 

In line with the growing adoption of electric vehicles, Our Country is expected to have 30% of the vehicles on its roads to be electric or hybrid electric vehicles by 2030. Currently, India has a population of 23 crore I.C vehicles. One-third of the vehicles by 2030 could amount to about 10 crore vehicles. 

The increasing vehicle population means a huge ecosystem of Original Equipment Manufacturers and component companies. Electric mobility can thus create millions of local, green, and highly skilled jobs. 

SVM has committed creating around 1 lakh direct job opportunities, for every direct job, there will likely be five indirect jobs in the society – this takes the number of total employments by SVM to about 5 lakhs by 2030. This employment scheme is not only for the Fresh or Experienced graduates but also for the Honorable EX Servicemen of our Indian Army. 

Various Fields and their direct and indirect opportunities as follow: 

Scientific Research 

Need: To improve the performance of Electric Vehicles especially by improving battery, recharging technology, and materials. Even the energy storage technology has a lot of opportunities to improve from Li-ion battery to a continuous energy source with a small amount of refuel. We don’t know what this technology will be – it is for our scientists and future engineers to invent. We will standby and support them in every way.  

Knowledge / Skill Focus: Chemistry, and Material Sciences, Physics, Quantum Physics  

People on-demand: 

o   Physicist, Quantum Physicists, Chemical, Materials engineers 

Design and Development 

Need: To design, test, and integrate components such as engines, batteries, generators, and electric motors 

Knowledge / Skill Focus: Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Software, Industrial Design 

People on-demand: 

o Engineers – Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Chemical, Material, Software developers – application, etc., 

Manufacturing 

Need: To manage specialized manufacturing processes including machine tool operations and assembly. 

Knowledge / Skill Focus: Machine Design, Industrial Production Design 

People on-demand: 

o   Electrical and electronic equipment assemblers 

o   Electromechanical equipment assemblers 

o   Engine and other machine assemblers 

o   Team assemblers 

o   CNC machine tool operators, metal and plastic 

o   Machinists 

o   Industrial production managers

Maintenance 

Need: To repair electric vehicles, and install electric vehicle components 

Knowledge / Skill Focus: Electrical System, Battery Systems 

People on-demand: 

o   Mechanics, Technicians. 

PRANAs are sure going change the reliability of the vehicle in many folds, how it is going to enable the mechanics to do more servicing (up to 80%) of the problem and distribute the job opportunity. 

Infrastructure 

Need: To set up and maintain charging stations, lay powerlines, and establishing grid connectivity 

Knowledge / Skill Focus: Electrical power-line installation and maintenance 

People on-demand: 

o   Powerline installers and repairers, Electricians. 

Sales and Service: 

Need: Customer care, interpersonal skills, mechanical knowledge 

Knowledge / Skill Focus: Customer interaction knowledge, core language skills, trainable mechanical knowledge 

People on-demand: 

o   Mechanics, Technicians. 

PRANAs will be mass-customized, centrally sold and services distributed way to optimize the experience of the customer and the cost. It is going to enable the mechanics to do more servicing at OEM/authorized service center level and distribute the job opportunity. 

Infrastructure
